Born in 1989 in Tokyo Japan , Kyohei started dancing at the age of four and trained at the Ballet studio DUO. He received scholarships to study with The Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia and, the Elmhurst School for Dance in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. He joined Slovak National Theatre in Sep 2008-2010 2010 -2015 season with the Grand Rapids Ballet Company
He has been featured in such roles as Don Quixote, Tchaikovsky Pas de duex, Swan Lake, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Flowers of the Forest.
"It definitely was an honor to receive a medal in Jackson," says Kyohei Giovanni Yoshida, 2010 USA IBC Senior Bronze Medalist. Since then he's been working with former Pacific Northwest Ballet principal Patricia Barker at Grand Rapids Ballet in Michigan, first as a guest artist and after one year as a principal. He was invited to perform in the 16th annual International Ballet Festival of Miami in September 2012, and most recently, Francia Russell, former artistic director of PNB traveled to Michigan and coached him for the principal role Melancholic in Balanchine’s Four Temperaments. He will perform as a guest artist in Tokyo Japan this August.[from USAIBCFB]2013
